Ingredients

You Will Need:

Berry Filling

  • 4 cups of mixed berries (fresh)

  • 1/2 cup applesauce

  • 2 tbsp oats (ground)

Crunchy Crust

  • 1/2 cup oats (ground)

  • 1/2 cup oats (whole)

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (broken into small pieces)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Prepare a 9x9-inch baking pan, coating the bottom with unsalted butter.

  3. Make the filling:

    • Rinse and drain the berries.

    • In a small bowl, mix applesauce and ground oats until smooth.

    • Pour mixture evenly over berries in the pan.

  4. Make the crust:

    • Mix ground oats, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt using a pastry cutter.

    • Add in whole oats and combine.

    • Sprinkle mixture on top of the berries.

  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
