Let's Get Social! EatWell Exchange Presents Heritage Cook-Off

The Eatwell Exchange Heritage Cook-Off is a high-energy, interactive cooking experience that brings together culture, creativity, and wellness through friendly competition. Designed for Black community members and professionals, this team-based cooking class invites participants to collaborate in small groups to prepare a culturally inspired dish using thoughtfully selected ingredients, herbs, and spices rooted in African, Caribbean, and Southern food traditions.

Guided by an Eatwell Exchange Registered Dietitian Jasmine Westbrooks-Figaro, participants receive culinary and nutrition instruction focused on building bold flavor while supporting overall health without sacrificing cultural identity or enjoyment. Teams will plan, cook, and plate their dish before presenting it to a judging panel for tasting and feedback.   Teams will cook enough for everyone to try. One group will be crowned the Eatwell Exchange Heritage Cook-Off winner, but all participants leave with practical skills, deeper cultural connection, and renewed confidence in the kitchen.
