Join EatWell Exchange alongside Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien for a hands-on heart-healthy cooking class focused on building healthier habits through flavorful, culturally familiar foods. This interactive class will be led by a guest chef from Zeta Nu Nu and presented in partnership with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Zeta Nu Nu Chapter.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, with disproportionately higher rates in Black and Brown communities. How we cook and how often we prepare meals at home directly impacts heart health, influencing sodium intake, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and overall diet quality.
Participants will cook alongside instructors while learning practical, realistic strategies to support heart health, including seasoning without excess salt, choosing healthier fats, and preparing affordable meals that fit real life.
