Epis is a traditional marinade made in Haiti and Sofrito is a seasoning with similar ingredients that is made in the hispanic culture. These marinades take fresh herbs, garlic, peppers and onions to make a flavorful seasoning so salt or manufactured seasonings are not needed. All I have to do is mash avocado, add epis and top it off with tomatoes, onions, olives and peppers.
